TEHRAN – In the wake of the tragic passing of Iran's president and top diplomat in a helicopter crash on Sunday, foreign ministers from China, Oman, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait have expressed their condolences and solidarity with the Iranian people.

Through phone conversations with Iran's acting foreign minister Ali Bagheri Kani, heartfelt messages of sympathy and support were conveyed, underscoring the significance of diplomatic relations during moments of grief.

Representatives from various countries have emphasized the importance of maintaining strong ties and fostering mutual understanding, even amidst times of sorrow. These conversations have served as a testament to the enduring bonds between nations, transcending political differences to offer solace in the face of loss.

In offering their condolences, foreign ministers have also extended their sympathies to the Iranian people, recognizing the profound impact of this loss on the nation. 

A helicopter carrying Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi crashed in Iran’s province of East Azerbaijan on May 19, resulting in the death of all passengers. Iran’s top diplomat Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Governor of East Azerbaijan Malek Rahmati, and Friday Prayer Leader of Tabriz Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Al-e-Hashem were also on board.
